The World Health Day is observed every year on April 7 as a Global Health Awareness Day. The World Health Day is celebrated worldwide and is sponsored by World Health Organization (WHO) along-with other respective organizations. The first World Health Day came into effect from 1950 after World Health Organization held the first World Health Assembly in the year 1948. This objective of this Day is to draw the attention of every country towards the importance of Health and hence various Health Awareness Campaigns are released at international, national, regional and local levels. The World Health Day Theme 2020 focuses around COVID-19 Pandemic and revolves around the brave and courageous work of Nurses and Midwives. The World Health Day 2020 wishes everyone good health.

The World Health Day is among one of the eight health campaigns that is conducted by World Health Organization. The other seven campaigns include World No Tobacco Day, World Immunization Week, World Tuberculosis Day, World Blood Donor Day, World AIDS Day, World Malaria Day and World Hepatitis Day.
