New Delhi :
While the thought of British and Irish men labelled the ‘ugliest guys in the world’ is something we might vehemently struggle to come to terms with, a dating website argues otherwise. The Los Angeles-based website beautifulpeople.com reveals that Irish men had their worst ever results in their annual 'beauty charts', that looks at how many people gets approved to join the leagues of the dateable five million members. In their website, they mentioned that only six per cent of Irish men who apply to join picky international dating site are approved. Dublin men were dubbed the most attractive on the Island of Ireland followed by Cork, Galway and Belfast, with those in Limerick struggling to make it to the cut.
Following next in line in terms of ‘ugliness’ are British men at the 18th, out of 21 countries surveyed with only 9% of British male applicants were successful, a 3% higher rate to Irish men.
As for women however, they were among the sixth 'most beautiful' in the world, tied with France and ahead of the USA with 35 per cent of Irish women who apply to join the website getting approved.
Speaking about the result for both Irish men and women, Greg Hodge, Managing Director of BeautifulPeople, told the Mirror, 'There are many examples of very handsome Irish men in Hollywood, such as Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell, Michael Fassbender and Jamie Dornan.
'However, this is the exception and not the norm. Unfortunately, when you look at the stats, Irish men are the undisputed ugliest in the world. They really are in a league of their own’.
‘But Irish women are continuing to improve their beauty rankings. We looked closely into why Irish women are climbing and Irish men are falling in the beauty rankings. What we found is that a large proportion of Irish women are applying from Dublin - known to be one of the more beautiful areas for Irish inhabitants, whereas the majority of male applicants came from Belfast and Galway, as well as more rural areas which historically have housed some of Ireland's least attractive inhabitants.'
Scandinavian nations were labelled the most attractive with more than seventy per cert of Norwegian women that apply to join the website getting approved, followed by Sweden at 62 per cent and Iceland at 61 per cent. Swedish men also fared the best with 60 per cent of their applications being approved, followed by Brazilian men at 41 per cent and Danish men at 40 per cent.
