New Delhi:
You might be in worry all the time how to better your relationship and save it from all the unwanted mess. Well here is a trick. Giving each other a massage can better your physical and mental well-being and lead to satisfaction in relationship, according to research.
According to results, massaging each other may ensure stability in relationshipas couples generally operate as a pair at the time of coping with stress.
“Massage can be simple and effective way for couples to improve their physical and mental well-being whilst showing affection for one another,” said Sayuri Naruse from Northumbria University in Britain.
Massaging affects both the giver and the receiver’s well-being, perceived stress and coping abilities as well as emotional well-being.
“The benefits of receiving a massage from a professional are well documented, but this research shows how a similar outcome can be obtained by couples with little prior training and experience of the activity,” Naruse added.
A total of 38 volunteered for the research which was a three-week massage course, in which their well-being was assessed with the help of questionnaires before and after massage sessions in eight areas namely physical and mental wellbeing, stress, coping and relationship satisfaction.
"Massage is a cost effective and pleasant intervention that isn't just for a therapeutic setting but can be easily incorporated into a healthy couple's daily routine," Naruse added.
