The Valentines Week for 2020 is here and it starts with Rose day. Scent of the day: Rose l’Orange – April Aromatics, perfumer Tanja Bochnig. Yesterday, I was reminded by an IG post I haven’t worn anything April Aromatics in a while. In a long while, actually. I am pretty picky about natural perfumery, and after I have sampled (and loved, and emptied) most of the scents I had from April Aromatics, I haven’t touched the sample box for…years. I am following AA and I know there is already a pile of scents I don’t know – Irisistible, Pink Wood, Agartha, Purple Reign, the last one Vetiver Coeur. However, there is one I have a sample, but couldn’t wear at first. And forgot it until today - I am wearing it with great delight and silly grin of infinite deliciousness and satisfaction on my face. Kind of serendipity, isn’t it? I suppose it matured longer left in the box, and consequently turned better and now my aura smells like rose nougat!!! Yum! There should be orange blossom and neroli in the composition, but I perceive them as sweet rich Jasminum sambac, devoid of indoles and any dirty associations. Along the warming of the fragrance on the skin, the rose sways its skirt like a flamenco dancer with its quilts and pleats of motley nuances – pepper, lavender, wet saw dust, geranium, Turkish loukoum, and some citrus that is slightly unclear to me and might be the orange from the name. Juicy, balmy, powdery – the perfume is all that in different circumstances. Rose themed chocolates or wine

Even when it is not chocolate day already you can go for rose themed chocolates or strawberries that look like roses dipped in chocolate sauce. Rose flavoured beverages and wines are also good to go

The idea is to make some special moments together worth remembering forever. So it is not necessary to stick to something related to roses. An amazing time together will go a thousand miles. Happy rose day!
