New Delhi:

Meet ‘consent condom’, the newest condom to enter the safe-sex market. This new innovation is the handiwork of Tulipán, an Argentinian sex toy company and requires four hands to open — ensuring that both parties are equally involved in the decision to have sex. This new rubber invention will not only encourage safe-sex but also help avoid ‘stealthing’. In case you heart heard of the term, stealthing is a very controversial and obnoxious practice where a man wearing a condom will deliberately and secretly remove a condom during sex without consent from their partner.

Stealthing has conjured a lot of debate regarding consent and safe sex in the recent times as many feel that removing condom without the other person’s knowledge is tantamount to ‘rape’ at the same time increasing the risks of STD’s. United Nations report that at least 35 percent of women globally have experienced a form of sexual assault.

Joaquin Campins, the general director of the BBDO agency, which cooperated with the condom brand on the special pack, said, “If it's not a yes, it's a no’’.

“Tulipán has always spoken of safe pleasure but for this campaign we understood that we had to talk about the most important thing in every sexual relationship — pleasure is possible only if you both give your consent,” says Joaquin Campins according to the New York Post.

The condoms reportedly aim to raising awareness for the rights of those who are HIV positive in the country, after a nationwide survey revealed only 14.5 percent of Argentinian men said they regularly used condoms during sex.
