Amitabh Bachchan’s grand-daughter Navya Naveli Nanda has been in the news for her link-up rumours with Javed Jaffery's son Meezaan for the longest time now. Photos of Meezan and Navya exiting a theatre together went viral last year, sparking dating rumours. Meezan, who made his Bollywood debut with Malaal, walked the ramp for designer Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla's 33 years celebration on Thursday.
Now, a video from the event is doing the rounds on social media which shows Jaya Bachchan walking up to the ramp to hug the Malaal actor. In the video, Jaya embraces Meezan in a warm, tight hug. The video has grabbed many eyeballs and has also left netizens wondering if Jaya has approved the relationship of her granddaughter Navya Naveli with Meezan Jaffery.
Meanwhile, Navya's mother Shweta Bachchan too marked her presence at the show but she wasn't spotted near Jaya. Watch video here:
During his film promotions, Meezan rubbished the rumours and said: "Why will I admit it when there is no relationship? There is no relationship, okay? We're friends. Friends ka bhi ek relationship hota hai. It's not a boyfriend-girlfriend dating relationship. Just cause we get papped outside the theatre leaving with friends, by the way, that doesn't mean, 'Oh, we're dating,'" he clarified.
And in another media interaction, Meezan also spoke about the picture when he hid his face after he was papped with Navya. He said: "We used to study together in New York and the photograph that went viral showed us going for a movie. I had covered my face because I did not want social media exposure at that time. In fact, I don't want to be in the news for my personal life. I believe that social media should be used selectively. I am currently single and am only focussing on my work."
