An atypical study led by a group of researchers from the University of Michigan, United States, has found that women are more attracted to flashy men when it comes to one-night stands.
Women prefer the bold type of men, who drive racy cars and wear bling jewellery and are less attracted to the unadventurous and timid ones.
They, however, avoid these kinds of daring men when they search for a husband. They find such men interesting only for a short-term fling.
Women, in general, reject these guys as life-partner since they have more chances to continue with multiple affairs and more likely to walk out on their kids.
The study, published in the journal Evolutionary Psychological Science, found men to have similar thoughts about show-offs.

Moreover, men are more likely than women to display their wealth as they have been playing the traditional role of 'provider' since ancient ages.
"Men with high mate value characteristics may be more likely to abandon relationships because they have greater opportunities, constraining their interest in and attractiveness for long-term partnerships," said lead author Daniel Kruger in a statement.
Earlier studies have shown similar results with jewellery, clothing and homes.
