For long Harry Potter writer, JK Rowling has been bashed for the lack of 'queer representation' in her world of 'witches and wizards'. The ‘latest’ lash has a composite of everything-some fans who weren't happy as they want to keep sexuality out of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts stories and some for oversharing new information about characters outside of the books and movies. And this particularly has to do with the recent interview of Rowling for HER Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald book where she detailed the ‘passionate affair’ between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
According to Rowling’s comments in a Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Blu-ray feature, by RadioTimes,  the two men did have an “incredibly intense†relationship in their youth. “It was passionate, and it was a love relationship,†the author reportedly says. “But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows really what the other person is feeling. You can’t know, you can believe you know.â€
Unlike you, Rowlings declares, “I’m less interested in the sexual side – though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship – than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships.â€Â
But then again, it didn’t take long for netzines with their torches-and-pitchforks to lash out the writer for her explicit nature of content. Earlier Rowling had previously revealed that, despite the fact it is not mentioned in the Harry Potter books or films, Dumbeldore is gay, so what were they expecting?
Check out some of the tweets lashing out at the author for her habit of revealing new information about characters outside of the books and movies.

I'm sick of Rowling and her half-assed inclusivity. It doesn't count if she's telling us after the fact. That's not being an ally. That's trying to get brownie points. She loses nothing this way. Put it in the text or don't talk about it all. Same thing with Hermione's race.
