Instagram will hold its first ever exhibition in the Indian state of West Bengal on January 7, Thursday. The theme of the photo exhibition is ‘Celebrating Diversity of Bengal.’
The social media app, owned by Facebook will showcase community-generated Instagram posts around the theme ‘Celebrating Diversity of Bengal’ at the Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR) gallery in Kolkata from January 7 to 9.
Theme-related images of festivals, landscape, people, food, wildlife, architecture of West Bengal will be put on display at the exhibition. Using social media for sharing the cultural nuances has become a commonplace.
Numerous budding photographers, enthusiasts and even travellers post on Facebook and Instagram the pictures of food, their travel experience, memories and throw a light on the cultural variation that exists.
The exhibition will be a platform to showcase one’s penchant for clicking the cultural variety, heritage and festivities in the country.
