Most Indians want to holiday and are willing to spend. According to a survey carried out by a firm, over 40 per cent Indians spend an average six to 10 hours online researching for best deals on hotels, air tickets as well as combo package deals before booking a week-long vacation.
The survey was conducted by Access Media International on behalf of Expedia, an American global travel technology company.
Another close to 23 per cent of Indians spend a stretch of 11-30 hours and around 20 per cent spend over 30 hours online, researching while finding out the best deals for a week-long holiday.
Interestingly, the survey also revealed that 14 per cent respondents have fought with their spouses for spending too much time researching before booking a holiday.

The survey was carried out online between May 30 to June 25, 2018 across the metropolitan cities of India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. The survey covered around 600 working people aged between 18 years and above.
According to the survey, around 93 per cent respondents book their hotels within the same week of booking their plane tickets.
The survey also showed 65 per cent Indians don’t take risk to get great hotel deals.
However, around 27 per cent online holiday seekers book the deals instantly if there are offers available in hotels. While over 90 per cent would take the deal within the offer period.

The survey revealed that of the 35 per cent who don’t mind risking to get the best hotel deals, 17 per cent waited till the last day to make bookings. Another nine per cent book hotel before approval on their planned leaves, six per cent booked hotel before flight and four per cent changed their destination last minute.
