Just about 100 kilometers from Mumbai, the “Sukoon Empire” real estate project in Neral, Raigad district, has landed in the middle of a major controversy. A promotional video of the project went viral on social media, hinting that it was designed exclusively for the Muslim community. As soon as the video surfaced, social media erupted with outrage. While some users called it a “Ghazwa-e-Hind preparation,” others described it as a “nation within a nation” conspiracy. Allegations have also surfaced that the project is not only being marketed on religious grounds but is also offering special concessions to Muslim buyers. Meanwhile, reactive posts like this one are fueling the outrage:

“Allegations of Demographic Change in Neral, Hindu Exodus Claimed”

Hindu organizations in Neral have raised serious allegations, claiming that the area’s demographic pattern is being deliberately altered. They allege that several housing projects in the region are exclusively selling homes to Muslims, which has led to a rapid exodus of Hindus. Amol Suryawanshi, an activist from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), told News Nation, “Muslim population is being systematically increased in Neral, and the area’s demographics are changing rapidly.” Similarly, Shyam Kadav, also a VHP activist, stated, “Neral is turning into a mini-Pakistan. There are several areas where Hindus are now afraid to even enter.” Hindu organizations allege this is an attempt to create a “nation within a nation” — a dangerous separatist design.

“Mira Road Housing Projects Stir Similar Controversy”

The controversy isn’t limited to Neral alone. In Mira Road, near Mumbai, several builders are reportedly developing exclusive housing complexes for Muslims. Recently installed promotional posters clearly advertised Qibla-facing apartments designed specifically for Muslim buyers. As soon as these posters went viral, Hindu organizations strongly objected. Under mounting pressure, builders were forced to take down the posters, but the issue has since escalated further and deepened the communal fault lines.

“Atul Bhatkhalkar Writes to CM Fadnavis, Seeks Action”

The matter has now taken a political turn. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding strict action against religion-based housing projects and mosque constructions. He argued that such projects go against the spirit of the Indian Constitution and could provoke communal disharmony. Bhatkhalkar urged the state administration to intervene immediately, conduct an in-depth investigation, and ensure strict legal action to prevent any forced demographic shifts in sensitive regions.

“Ghazwa-e-Hind Debate Intensifies, Political Heat Rises”

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Ajit Chavan termed the entire issue a “Ghazwa-e-Hind” conspiracy, stating, “We will not allow such things to happen in Mumbai or Maharashtra. This is a direct challenge to the Constitution, and we demand strict action.” Krishna Hegde, leader of the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, has also raised serious concerns over the promotional videos and the intention behind these projects. What started as a social media outrage has now become a hot political topic in Maharashtra. Experts believe this controversy could escalate further and become a major flashpoint in the state’s politics in the coming days.
