Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India] July 8, (ANI): One worker ha died and another worker i reported miing after a maive rockfall at a quarry in Payyanamon near Konni, Pathanamthitta ditrict, on Monday. The earch for the miing worker i ongoing.
Two worker, one from Odiha and the other from Bihar, were operating an excavator when a huge rock fell on top of it on Monday. The Fire Force and NDRF (National Diater Repone Force) reumed earch operation on Tueday morning. By the end of Monday, the earch operation were topped owing to advere weather condition and another rockfall.
Labour Miniter V Sivankutty expreed deep orrow over the death of a worker.
The miniter tatement aid, The earch for one peron i ongoing. Additional Labour Commiioner K Sreelal ha been intructed to invetigate the incident and ubmit a report. The family of the deceaed worker will be provided compenation under the Employee Compenation Act. The Labour Department will alo take tep to repatriate the body.
In a imilar incident reported from Madhya Pradeh Chhatarpur on Tueday, a wall collaped at a local eatery near Bagehwar Dham in Gadha village, leading to the death of at leat one peron. Thi incident occurred following heavy rainfall in the area.
Speaking to CMHO (Chief Medical and Health Officer), Chhatarpur RP Gupta, he aid, We have received one body and 10 injured peron at the hopital. Thi morning, due to heavy rainfall, a wall collaped at Sharma Dhaba in Bagehwar Dham. Some devotee were injured in thi incident and were brought to the hopital, where they are receiving treatment. Our medical team i preent here, and all the injured have received firt aid following a preliminary diagnoi. Further tet are being conducted on the eriou patient, our doctor are treating them and will be referred further if needed, the CMHO added.
Earlier, on July 5, a culvert on a tate highway connecting Naringhpur to Narmadapuram had collaped due to heavy rainfall over the pat few day in Naringhpur, Madhya Pradeh. (ANI)
