Dr Ravindranath, who wa heading the team that wa conducting the invetigation related to udden cardiac death in Haan and other ditrict, ubmitted the COVID-19 ide effect report to the Health Miniter today.
Reponding to the media after receiving the report of the expert committee on Covid ide effect in Bengaluru on Monday, Rao aid that the number of heart attack ha increaed by 4 to 5 percent after Covid. However, he clarified that the expert report ha tated that the COVID-19 vaccine i not a direct caue of thi.
The expert report ha tated that tobacco conumption i the main reaon for the increae in heart attack in 50 percent of cae. Apart from thi, Diabete, blood preure, obeity have increaed. Exceive ue of teroid i alo a reaon.
A report ha alo been prepared by comparing the medical record of Jayadeva Hopital before Covid. A tudy wa conducted on 253 heart dieae patient at Jayadeva Hopital.
