Shimla (Himachal Pradeh) [India], July 8 (ANI): The cumulative death toll due to heavy rain-related incident in Himachal Pradeh ha rien to 80, with 52 fatalitie directly attributed to diater uch a landlide, flah flood, and cloudburt, while 28 death were due to other caue including road accident, according to the State Diater Management Authority (SDMA).
The ditrict of Mandi wa the wort hit, accounting for 17 rain-related death, followed by Kangra with 11.
The SDMA report, covering the period from June 20 to July 7, alo recorded 28 death under other caue including electrocution, nake bite, and fall from teep terrain.
Quoting from the report, an SDMA official aid, A per cumulative data compiled till July 7, the tate ha recorded 80 death--52 from rain-induced incident, 28 from road accident.
Rain-related death included 14 due to cloudburt, 8 in flah flood, 1 from landlide, and other from electrocution, drowning, and fall caued by weather event.
In addition, the tate ha een 128 people injured, 320 houe fully damaged, and 38 partially damaged, 10,254 livetock and poultry death and damage to public infratructure worth R 69,265.60 lakh
The SDMA alo confirmed 23 flah flood and 19 cloudburt event o far thi monoon, along with 16 landlide, undercoring the cale of diruption acro hill ditrict.
Maive damage to crop, road, bridge, and power infratructure wa reported, epecially in Mandi, Kullu, Kangra, and Shimla. Relief camp have been et up, and recue operation are ongoing with aitance from NDRF and SDRF team.
The SDMA ha urged the public to tay alert and avoid vulnerable zone near river, teep lope, and under-contruction ite. The government continue to monitor the ituation and i providing aitance to affected familie. (ANI)
