Gujarat leverages its 2,340-km coastline to advance cruise tourism and unlock new economic opportunities

A per an official releae, under the leaderhip of Chief Miniter Bhupendra Patel, the tate ha taken a proactive role in haping the national cruie agenda, leveraging it trategic 2,340-km coatline and navigable river like the Sabarmati and Narmada. In alignment with the national miion enviioned by Prime Miniter Narendra Modi, the Gujarat Maritime Board organied a takeholder conultation workhop on May 6 to chart out a Cruie Shipping Policy tailored to Gujarat unique trength and apiration.
The day-long workhop began with a welcome addre by Capt. Banhiva Ladva, Chief Nautical Officer (HQ), Gujarat Maritime Board. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp formally opened the eion, followed by a keynote addre by Rajkumar Beniwal, IAS, Vice Chairman and CEO of GMB. He highlighted the tate growing maritime capabilitie and underlined the economic opportunitie preented by the emerging cruie tourim ector.
Gujarat roadmap wa formally preented by Rajkumar Beniwal, who introduced the tate plan for world-cla cruie terminal, upported by invetment-friendly framework. Adding to thi viion, Saidingpuii Chhakchhuak, IAS, Managing Director of Gujarat Tourim, laid out a trategy for developing cruie-ready detination and hore excurion circuit deigned to enhance paenger experience.
Krihnaraj R, IPS, again emphaied the need for efficient immigration procee, recommending the ue of digital technologie to treamline tourit handling.
A part of the Cruie Bharat Miion, Gujarat ha propoed multiple potential cruie circuit along it wetern coat. Thee include key detination uch a Diu, Veraval, Porbandar, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Okha, and Padala Iland, alongide the operational Ghogha-Hazira Ro-Pax ervice.
The propoed route have been divided into three cluter:
Padala Iland-Rann of Kutch
Porbandar-Veraval-Diu
Dwarka-Okha-Jamnagar
Each cluter i deigned with tourim logic, enuring that key religiou, natural, and cultural detination are within a 100-kilometre radiu, making hore excurion efficient and attractive for cruie paenger. (ANI)
