Jammu (Jammu and Kahmir) [India], July 8 (ANI): The Department of Horticulture Jammu, organied a one-day Capacity Building-cum-Training Programme for farmer, epecially targeting the empowerment of women at Pargwal under the chairmanhip of MLA Akhnoor Mohan Lal.
The event witneed the preence of Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Sayed, Chief Horticulture Officer Rakeh Kotwal, Ditrict Level Subject Matter Specialit Rakeh Bhagat and Horticulture Development Officer Khour Amit Saraf.
The programme drew a large number of farmer from the area, epecially the women. The trong turnout reflected the keen interet among local farming communitie to adopt modern practice and value addition technique.
An on-pot demontration eion wa conducted for the participant on making pickle, jam, quah, and other value-added product. Expert explained the procee in detail and anwered farmer querie, encouraging them to adopt uch technique to increae their income and reduce pot-harvet loe.

Speaking on the occaion, MLA Mohan Lal treed the importance of etting up mall-cale fruit proceing unit in the block, epecially for women and unemployed youth. He aid uch initiative would not only make them elf-reliant but alo generate employment opportunitie for people in the area. He called upon the youth and women of Pargwal to come forward, adopt modern horticulture practice, and avail themelve of government upport for entrepreneurhip development.
Director Horticulture Jammu delivered an in-depth awarene eion on variou government cheme run by the Department of Horticulture for the welfare of farmer. He highlighted the Holitic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the Miion for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), and other centrally ponored cheme. He urged the participant to take advantage of thee cheme for etablihing nurerie, protected cultivation tructure, micro-irrigation ytem, and proceing unit.
CHO Kotwal alo addreed the gathering, pecifically encouraging women farmer to actively participate in the department cheme. He emphaied the role of women in value addition and entrepreneurhip, noting that with proper training and upport, they can ignificantly improve their livelihood.
A part of the programme concluding activitie, Mohan Lal ditributed fruit plant among the participant to promote orchard development in the region. He alo ceremoniouly handed over the key of tractor to the beneficiarie under the HADP cheme, marking a ignificant tep toward farm mechaniation in the area.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thank delivered by Horticulture Development Officer, Khour. He expreed gratitude to the dignitarie, officer, and epecially the large number of farmer--including many women--for their active participation and aured continued upport from the Department of Horticulture to trengthen farmer livelihood and promote utainable horticulture practice in Pargwal and urrounding area.
