Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 8 (ANI): Police arreted a man for cheating a jewellery hop owner in Jayanagar. The accued took gold bar worth R 2.5 crore to make ornament but did not return them. Police recovered 3.16 kg of gold ornament and R 8.53 lakh in cah from him.
The complainant, who own a jewellery hop in 3rd Block, Jayanagar Police Station limit, had complained to Jayanagar Police Station on June 13. According to the complaint, for the pat four year, the complainant had been giving gold bar from hi hop to a peron who run a gold melting and ornament-making unit in 1t Block, Jayanagar, to make variou tyle of jewellery a intructed. Similarly, during the period from April 29 to June 4, the complainant handed over a total of 8 kg 351 gram of gold bar to the ame peron. However, the peron received the gold but failed to return the crafted ornament and allegedly defrauded the complainant.
Baed on the complaint, a cae wa regitered at Jayanagar Police Station.
Continuing the invetigation from multiple angle, the police gathered credible information through informant and, on June 14, took the accued into cutody in Goa.
Upon interrogation, the accued admitted to receiving the gold bar and failing to return the finihed jewellery, thereby committing fraud. On the ame day, police eized 3 kg 36 gram of gold ornament from the accued reidence in Hanumanthanagar.
On June 15, the accued wa produced before the Court, which remanded him to 10 day of police cutody.
During extenive interrogation in police cutody, the accued revealed that a portion of the gold wa tored at hi reidence and that he had old the remaining gold bar.
A the invetigation continued, on June 17, police recovered R 8,53,600 in cah from the home of a friend of the accued in Jayanagar. The accued had given the money to hi friend for afekeeping.
On June 23, the accued wa again produced before the Court and wa remanded to judicial cutody. On June 27, police recovered 130 gram of gold ornament, which the accued had pledged at a pawnhop.
In total, from the arret of the accued in thi cae, 3 kg 166 gram of gold ornament and 8,53,600 in cah were recovered, valued at R 2.5 crore.
Under the guidance of Lokeh Bharamappa Jagalaar, IPS, Deputy Commiioner of Police, South Diviion, and leaderhip of Narayanawamy V, Aitant Commiioner of Police, Jayanagar Sub-Diviion, the cae wa uccefully detected by Inpector Deepak R of Jayanagar Police Station and other officer. (ANI)
