Large-scale Vote Chori and manipulation of electoral rolls have shaken people faith in the very foundation of our Republic. Vote Chori is not an isolated crime; it is part of a larger attack on our Constitution, weakening of our economy, systematic social injustice, and a threat to India integrity. As part of our nationwide Vote Chori, Gaddi Chhod signature campaign & door-to-door campaign, I joined the movement today in my ward, Kaithavana, in Alappuzha. Across India, the Congress will collect five crore signatures against this blatant assault on democracy, he said.
The Congress leader called upon citizens to join the truggle to defend the Constitution and save the soul of India.
This is fast gaining momentum as a people movement, and we call upon every citizen who believes in democracy to join this struggle to defend our Constitution and save the soul of India, the post further read.
A day earlier, party leader Jairam Ramesh said that the reverse count for the ouster of Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has started as he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his earlier potshots at the opposition parties, saying that he has begun distributing revdis to the people of the state ahead of assembly polls.
He also repeated Congress vote chori allegations against the BJP.
Ramesh said that Prime Minister Modi continuously criticised the Karnataka government for providing Rs 2,000 per month to 1.3 crore women under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, but now he himself is doing the same. (ANI)
