Dhubri (Aam) [India], July 8 (ANI): A maive eviction drive, decribed a the larget in Aam hitory, began thi morning in the Bilaipara ubdiviion of Dhubri ditrict. The operation i being carried out acro Bilaipara Eat, Chirakuta Charuwabakhra, and Santohpur area.
The eviction i underway with the deployment of hundred of JCB machine and heavy police ecurity. According to official, the majority of reident had already vacated the area within the deadline earlier iued by the adminitration, relocating along with their houehold and belonging.
The drive i being conducted over approximately 3,500 bigha of land, earmarked for the contruction of a thermal power project etimated to cot ₹40,000 crore.
Thi large-cale project i expected to play a tranformative role in Aam energy infratructure. Authoritie have tated that the land clearance i eential for the implementation of thi high-invetment power project, and that due proce wa followed in informing and preparing reident ahead of the operation.
Interacting with media in Kokrajhar, Aam, Chief Miniter Himanta Biwa Sarma, on Monday, had aid, Some people from Karimganj, Dhubri, Chappar, and Silchar are going and ettling in Lakhimpur. They have been evicted to protect the freedom and land right of the local people of Lakhimpur.
The Chief Miniter had alo accued oppoition leader of politiciing the iue. Now they are doing politic in the name of thi girl to provide ecurity to Bangladehi. Their objective i to top the BJP eviction campaign, but the BJP ha gone ahead with it, he added.
CM Sarma emphaied that the campaign will continue in other part of the tate, including Dhubri. It will happen tomorrow in Dhubri Chappar. No outider hould be allowed to enter Bodoland, he declared. CM Sarma trongly defended the ongoing eviction drive in part of the tate, reiterating the government commitment to removing what he termed a illegal Bangladehi. (ANI)
