Punjab govt withdraws Channi-era decision to hand over Bhakra Beas Dam security to CISF, announces 3,600 special educator posts

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], July 8 (ANI): Punjab Finance Miniter Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday aid the tate government ha revered a key deciion taken during the previou Congre regime regarding the ecurity of the Bhakra Bea Management Board (BBMB).
While talking to ANI, Cheema aid, During the Congre party tenure, a letter wa iued agreeing to hand over the ecurity of the Bhakra Bea Management Board, and the then Chief Miniter Charanjit Singh Channi had aid that the ecurity of the Bhakra Bea Dam would be handed over to the Central Indutrial Security Force (CISF). Today, we have withdrawn that deciion.
He added that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government would alo bring the matter before the Punjab Legilative Aembly.
Cheema alo announced a erie of developmental initiative, including large-cale recruitment for pecial education and the promotion of traditional port. He aid that the tate cabinet ha approved the recruitment of 3,600 pecial educator to teach children with pecial need.
We have announced 3,600 vacancie to teach them. In the coming time, recruitment will be done for thee vacancie, and we will educate thoe children well o that they can contribute to ociety, he aid.
The miniter alo highlighted the etablihment of two new univeritie in the tate and poke about legilative tep taken to promote traditional rural port.

Earlier, Cheema wa appointed a to leader of the 5-member Cabinet Sub Committee to monitor the war againt drug. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann ha aked the Commiioner of Police, Deputy Commiioner and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab drug-free tate.
Divulging detail, Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla informed that over 200 Police team, compriing over 1400 police peronnel, under the uperviion of 96 gazetted officer have conducted raid at a many a 488 location acro the tate leading to the regitration of 84 firt information report (FIR) acro the tate.
