Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) [India], July 27 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday met people injured in the stampede near the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar, which claimed the lives of at least six people.

CM Dhami visited the injured at Haridwar District Hospital, wished them a speedy recovery, and directed doctors to provide the best possible treatment.

In a post on X, Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote, Upon reaching the District Hospital in Haridwar, I inquired about the well-being of the devotees injured in the accident on the Mansa Devi Temple road. I obtained detailed information from the doctors about the health condition of the injured and issued instructions to ensure better treatment.

जिला चिकित्सालय हरिद्वार पहुंचकर मनसा देवी मंदिर मार्ग पर हुए हादसे में घायल श्रद्धालुओं का कुशलक्षेम जाना। चिकित्सकों से घायलों की स्वास्थ्य स्थिति की विस्तृत जानकारी ली और बेहतर उपचार सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए।

He added, I pray to God for everyone speedy recovery. The state government stands with the injured and the grieving families with utmost sensitivity.

Earlier, the Chief Minister announced a magisterial inquiry into the incident. He also declared an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

Speaking to reporters, CM Dhami said, The injured are being treated. Some have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. Our priority is that they get good treatment and recover soon. A toll-free number has also been issued. Magisterial inquiry has been ordered and ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured, also announced.

He said, Six people have died in this accident...

Meanwhile, AIIMS Rishikesh Director Dr Meenu Singh said that four people remain in critical condition following the stampede.

The incident took place around 9 am, and patients started coming in around 11 am. So far, 15 patients have been brought here, and 4-5 have been sent back because they sustained minor injuries. Out of the 10 patients admitted, two are children. Four are in a critical condition... Treatment of all the patients is underway... Dr Singh told ANI. (ANI)
