New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Targetting the Centre over the Special Intensive Revision being carried out in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Saturday said that seeds of hatred are being sown by the government adding that Election Commission of India has almost started acting like Bangladesh Election Commission.
Such an eviction has never been carried out since India gained Independence. Seeds of hatred are being sown in the ecosystem...The Election Commission has started acting like the Bangladesh Election Commission. This aspect is a matter of concern for our democracy, Manoj Jha told ANI.
As per the latest data released by the Election Commission of India on July 25, 99.8 per cent of Bihar electors have been covered so far in the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Forms of 7.23 crore electors have been received and digitised; the names of all these electors will be included in the Draft Electoral Roll. The digitisation of forms, along with BLO reports, of the remaining electors will also be completed by August 1, 2025, the poll body stated.
Jha further pointed out that the ruling government has done nothing for the Other Backwards Class under its 11 years of tenure and urged them to list out even one important scheme that may have benefited the backwards communities.
What work is he (PM Modi) doing? Is he working on appointments? Someone, tell me one work. They sing the name of the OBC Commission. Apart from that, where should the concern for Bahujan be seen--in institutions, in institutes, or in higher education? Is it anywhere? the RJD MP asked.
It is pertinent to mention that, in 2018, under the Modi government, the 102nd Amendment Act, also known as the Constitution (One Hundred and Second Amendment) Act, 2018, was passed, which granted constitutional status to the National Commission for Backwards Classes (NCBC).
This amendment inserted Article 338B and Article 342A into the Constitution. NCBC was earlier a statutory body that was established in 1993. (ANI)
