"Mamata Banerjee is destroying Hindu Bengalis": WB LoP Suvendu Adhikari

Paschim Medinipur (West Bengal) [India], July 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, lambasted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of destroying Hindu Bengalis.

Adhikari on Tuesday claimed that while the BJP is protesting against the presence of Rohingyas, the West Bengal Chief Minister is protecting them.

Mamata Banerjee is holding a protest tomorrow in support of Rohingyas. We will be protesting against the Rohingyas. Whatever Mamata Banerjee is doing is to protect the Rohingya Muslims. Mamata Banerjee is destroying the Hindu Bengalis, West Bengal LoP said.

This statement came against the backdrop of the BJP ongoing accusations that the TMC is supportive of the Rohingyas in the state.

Earlier on Sunday, Union Minister and BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar slammed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over her claims of exploitation of the Bengali community under the BJP-ruled states, stating that the Hindus of West Bengal are uniting to remove the pro-Pakistan government in the state.

Speaking to ANI, Sukanta Majumdar mentioned that whenever Mamata Banerjee faces a dilemma, she resorts to chanting the Bengali mantra.
