New Delhi [India], July 29 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi on Tuesday criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his remarks during the Operation Sindoor debate in Lok Sabha, accusing him of shifting the blame on somebody else and trying to talk about what happened many years ago.
Speaking to ANI, Kanimozhi alleged that there was no constructive discussion about their replies in the Lok Sabha, which was the most important aspect, in which the government has completely failed.
He was only trying to shift the blame on somebody else and trying to talk about history and what happened many years ago. There was no constructive discussion or replies on what needs to be done and who will take responsibility for what happened, Kanimozhi said.
Earlier today, Kanimozhi launched a scathing attack on the Centre during the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, questioning its handling of recent terror incidents and accusing it of deflecting accountability. She emphasised that the government failure to learn from past mistakes has led to a lack of trust among the people.
What has the Vishwaguru learnt from these terror attacks? You cant keep talking about Operation Sindoor and expect us not to ask questions. This is a failure of a government that has failed the people of this country. You cant keep talking about the past and expect us to forget today issues. Vishwaguru has not learnt any lessons. He has not taught anything, Kanimozhi said.
Kanimozhi countered Home Minister Amit Shah speech, which she said implied that opposition parties were less patriotic, reminding him that the DMK was the first party to take out a rally in support of the Defence forces and stood with the government during the all-party meeting.
The Home Minister, in his speech, made us sound less patriotic. We have never failed this nation. The DMK was the first party which took out a rally in support of our Defence forces. When you called for an all-party meeting, we came and said that we stand with you, the DMK MP said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday trained guns on Congress amid the ongoing debate in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, and said that there would be no Pakistan if they didnt accept partition.
Pakistan is Congress mistake. If they had not accepted partition, there would have been no Pakistan today, Shah said while addressing the Lok Sabha.
The Union Home Minister held former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru responsible for India not being a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He further alleged that the Gandhi family love for China has been passed down from three generations.
Today, China is in the UN Security Council, and India is not. Modi is trying his best to get India to become a part of the UN Security Council. Jawaharlal Nehru stand is responsible for this. When our jawans were facing Chinese soldiers in Doklam, Rahul Gandhi was holding a meeting with the Chinese ambassador. This love for China has passed down three generations from Jawaharlal Nehru, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Shah said. (ANI)
