"PM Modi's friendship with Trump proving hollow": Jairam Ramesh

New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Saturday lashed out at the Modi government, alleging failure of Indian diplomacy, and said that the Prime Minister friendship with US President Donald Trump was proving to be hollow.

The abject failure of Indian diplomacy, especially in the past two months, is revealed most tellingly by four facts. Since May 10, 2025, President Trump has claimed 25 times that he personally intervened to stop Operation Sindoor, threatening India and Pakistan that if they didnt bring the war to a halt, they would not have a trade agreement with the USA, Ramesh said.

On June 10, 2025, General Michael Kurilla, the head of the powerful US Central Command, hails Pakistan as a phenomenal partner of the US in countering terrorism, he added.
