New Delhi [India], July 22 (ANI): Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain on Tuesday expressed shock over the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, calling for transparency regarding the circumstances that led to the development.

Speaking to ANI, Hussain said, Whether he has resigned on his own or has been forced to resign, this should come out in the public. This is shocking for us because till yesterday he was involved in all the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha... No one is safe here.

MDMK MP Durai Vaiko also expressed surprise over his Vice President Dhankhar resignation, however, he also wished him a good health.

It has come as a surprise. He has cited health reasons. I wish him good health, Vaiko told ANI.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut raised doubts over Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar resignation and alleged behind the scenes politics.

Addressing reporters in the national capital today Raut said that Dhankar resignation is not an ordinary event.

Big politics is going on behind the scenes, and it will be revealed soon. The resignation of the Vice President is not an ordinary event he said.

Raut further said, I am not ready to believe that it is due to health. I was observing him yesterday. He is fine. Something is going on, and we will find out soon. A lot can happen--just watch, something big will happen in September.

Earlier today, Congress MP Manish Tewari also sought clarification on the circumstances that led to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar resignation and said that the decision is wrapped in a mystery.

Speaking to ANI, Tewari claimed that the resignation of the Rajya Sabha Chairman remains somewhat of a riddle.

First of all. I wish the Vice President of India a very healthy and long life. However, his resignation remains somewhat of a riddle, which is at the moment wrapped in a mystery and rolled in an enigma, he said.

Vice President Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday to prioritise health care and abide by medical advice. Dhankar, also the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, sent his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu. (ANI)
