New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai hit out at Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav for his remark about boycotting Bihar elections with allies.
Responding to the remark, he said, By threatening electoral boycott, Tejashwi Yadav is looking for an excuse for their possible defeat in the Bihar assembly elections.
MoS Home Nityanand Rai further said that, Tejashwi Yadav knows very well that the people of Bihar will defeat him badly in the elections, due to this fear sometimes he is blaming the Election Commission and sometimes threatening to boycott the elections.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai accused Mahagathbandhan of misleading people over SIR, saying Bihar voters are embracing the democratic process.
I want to tell Tejashwi Yadav that in a democratic process, it is a party decision to participate or not in elections but the way Mahagathbandhan was continuously trying to mislead the people of Bihar in the name of SIR, they are failing in it and instead of getting mislead, people are joining the ongoing Special Intensive Revision and Nearly 98 people have shown their responsibility towards the democratic process till now, that why Tejashwi Yadav is worried he added.
The MoS questioned RJD faith in democracy, calls out dynastic politics, and said, I would like to tell Tejashwi Yadav that you may be scared of losing the election, but if you have the courage, then face the people decision. In a democracy, the people will decide the fate, not the family and entire Bihar knows very well that RJD is a family party and they do not believe in the democratic process.
Asked if a boycott of the election is possible, Tejashwi Yadav said, Boycott is an option, but we will think about it... We will consult our alliance partners and the public before taking a final call. (ANI)
