The prediction of the virus in the novel was first pointed out by a Twitter user who shared an excerpt from the book. In the except, Koontz tells of a Chinese military lab that creates a virus as part of its biological weapons programme which is giving birth to even more conspiracy theories in regards to the origin of the virus.
