In the rarest of the rare births, a 25-year-old Iraqi mum, name not revealed, has given birth in what is believed to be the first septuplet case in eastern Iraq of Diyali Province. The birth of the septuplet is also believed to be the first case in the Middle-Eastern country.
A spokesman for the local health department released a statement stating that the new mother, along with her six girls and one son are in perfect health and reportedly doing well.
The father of the children, Youssef Fadl reported that he and his wife had not planned to expand their family after their three children adding that with the arrival of the septuplet, they now have ten youngsters to look after.
