A hotel room in Japan is unbelievably affordable offering as low as Rs 66 (100 Yen) per room but only on one condition. The name of the hotel is Asahi Ryokan in the Fukuoka town of Japan where room number 8 is available for just 100 Yen which is roughly equal to Rs 66 or $1.
The catch behind such affordable offer is the person willing to stay in this room will have to comprise on its privacy. It means room will be live streamed online where a camera will be pointing to the middle of the room allowing no blind spots.
According to Insider, the deal is available around the year for the typical Japanese-style room that comes with a foldable sleeping mat, a TV, a small coffee table and a tablet with a camera pointing towards the room.
The feed from the camera is to be streamed live on the YouTube channel One Dollar Hotel. However, the feed will be video only streaming which means phone call s and conversations will remain private.
The bathroom of room number 8 of Asahi Ryokan is outside the range of the camera.
As per a report by CNN, the idea of livestreaming hotel guests came to a 27-year old Tetsuya Inoue who said, ‘’This is a very old ryokan and I was looking into a new business model. Our hotel is on the cheaper side, so we need some added value, something special that everyone will talk about’’.
