For this Children’s’ Hospital, Santa Claus and his reindeer entourage are already here, in the form of former US President, Barack Obama. Obama who is known for his philanthropic work with children made a surprise visit to the Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, bringing with him a sack of presents for the young patients. Following his arrival, Obama was given a rock star's welcome while he can be seen cheering and dancing along with the crowd. The father of two, Obama sported a festive Santa hat with the titular Santa sack of gifts to surprise the children at the facility. According to sources, Santa Obama visited the hospital more than just to deliver presents, he also went about meeting and spending time with the families of the patients. According to a statement, "He had the chance to spend some time with parents and siblings of kids who are spending the holidays in the hospital."

Video of Obama’s visit has swept throughout the social media sphere with the clip being viewed more than a million times in three hours.
"Thank you @BarackObama for making our patients' day so much brighter," the tweet said.
"Your surprise warmed our hallways and put smiles on everyone's faces."
"Merry Christmas and happy holidays to the extraordinary kids, families, and staff at Children's National," Obama said in a tweet.
"And thanks for humouring me as your stand-in Santa."

Obama also told the staff at the hospital."I just want to say thank you to all of you guys. We've had the chance to talk to some of the wonderful kids and their families,".
"As the dad of two girls, I can only imagine in that situation to have nurses and staff and doctors and people who are caring for them, and looking after them... that's the most important thing there is," he added.
The Children’s Hospital Instagram handle also shared a picture of the 44th US President looking sleek as Santa on their Instagram page. They wrote, "Who said the Grinch stole Christmas?! Our patients and their families received a HUGE holiday surprise when @barackobama warmed our hallways with a huge bag of gifts for our patients! Thank you so much for visiting! #SWIPELEFT to see more! #Holidaysatchildrens #ObamaAndKids #ObamaClaus."
