Internet sensation Boo, a Pomeranian who was dubbed as the world’s cutest dog in 2011, died at the age of 12 on Friday. Boo and his companion Buddy, who died last year, became internet sensations when their owners started sharing pictures of their adorable antics on social media.
In a Faceboook post, Boo’s owners informed his 16 million fans that the he had died in his sleep. "Shortly after Buddy died, Boo showed signs of heart issues. We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us," his owners wrote.
"He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I'm sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven. Boo, we love you with all our hearts and will miss you until the day we meet again. Have fun running around with Buddy and creating adorable mischief wherever you guys go. Thank you to all of you for following along on their silly adventures over the past 10 years. They sure had a LOT of fun,’’ they added.
Buddy was the owner’s other social media star who died in September 2017. In addition to his social media presence, Boo was appointed in 2012 as Virgin America's Official Pet Liaison. He also had a book deal, appearing in photo books including "Boo: The Life of the World's Cutest Dog," published in 2011.
