New Delhi:

Kerala's Bhageerathi Amma has a toothless smile. Bhageerathi, another name of River Ganga, may not be able to walk like young school girls jumping and playing while going to school, but has the wit to write and clear a school-level exam. At 105, she became India's oldest "school student" to have cleared the fourth-standard equivalency exam conducted by the Kerala Literacy Mission. She scored 205 out of the total 275 marks.

Bhageerathi scored full marks in Maths, which is her favourite subject. There are four subjects - Malayalam, 'Nammalum Namukku Chuttum' (Us and what's around us), English and Math. While total marks for English is 50, for the other subjects it is 75. Bhageerathi got 75 of 75 in Maths, 30 in English and 50 each in Malayalam and Nammalum Namukku Chuttum.

The Kerala State Literacy Mission (KSLM) director PS Sreekala visited her residence in Prakkulam to congratulate her for the achievement. According to the News Minute website, Bhageerathi had told Sreekala that Math was really easy for her and that she aims to complete the Level 10 equivalency exam. "So, you really meant it when you said Math was really easy!" Seekala said. The centenarian smiled, off course, toothlessly.
