What if the moment you’ve waited for all your life, ends in an embarrassing disaster? One such incident happened on the stage of Miss Africa 2018 pageant. Miss Congo 2018 Dorcas Kasinde's hair caught fire while she was being crowned as Miss Africa 2018 on stage on Thursday night during the crowning ceremony in Cross River State in Nigeria.
Kasinde was announced as the winner on December 27 and as she stepped forward to wear the crown, her wig burst into flames, presumably from a spark of the fireworks. This shocking incident turned into an advantage to her popularity as she became an internet sensation in no time. The beauty queen set the stage on fire, literally. Or maybe, just her own hair! After being crowned, Kasinde was seen crying overwhelmed after winning the title when her afro wig began to light up. A man quickly jumped into action to help put out the fire.
The 24-year-old beauty queen was checked by medics after the incident and was found not to have suffered any injuries.
