VIDEO: Mother Squirrel Fights Cobra To Protect Its Babies, Internet Says ‘Amazing’

A video of a mother squirrel fighting with a cobra to protect its babies is going viral on the internet. The clip was posted by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda on Twitter with the caption, "Mother’s love is unlimited and never fades till the last breath. That explains the strength of a squirrel mother in taking up a fight with the mighty cobra to protect her babies."

In the 39 second clip, the squirrel can be seen trying to avoid multiple attacks by the reptile. The animal was apparently fighting the cobra in order to protect its babies, according to the IFS officer. The cobra also strikes back multiple times in retaliation. The squirrel can be seen using its tail to protect itself against the cobra's attack.

Amazing....look at how she uses her tail as a lure and for safety. I used to have a pet squirrel mother who went through 3 litters as she lived in our house, large green garden and even the run of our neighbours. Seen her encounter a bronzeback tree snake....but this is fantastic
