When it comes to weddings, Indian weddings always has something new of a story up its sleeves just as with this particular case in Tori Bagrod, Sironj city of Madhya Pradesh. For the three families, May 23 was more than just a day of General election results but more of utter frantic and search that resulted to the unfolding of a bizarre story no one saw coming.
Vinod Maharaj was a regular priest at a temple in the village of Asath. On May 7, as his profession demanded, he has the honour of performing the wedding rites of the bridegroom unbeknownst to the whole world that the priest and the bride had secretly been having an affair for the past two years. The whole story unfolded when Maharaj, who was supposed to preside over the rites of another wedding at the village was nowhere to be found. On searching for him, the villagers found out on the next day that he had run away with the girl.
As per reports inDainik Bhaskar, the girl, who was married to a man from Asath village on May 7 had ran away with the priest/secret lover who performed her wedding rites. A police complaint lodged upon the girls’ missing when it was discovered that she had been having an affair with the priest who was already married and has two children.
It was also reported that the girl ran away with jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and cash of about Rs 30,000.
