New Delhi:

Lazarus in real-life or an awfully misconstrued fake news? A Mumbai resident of Dahisar has his life drained out of him when he started receiving condolence messages from his loved ones expressing grief over his sudden death. According to Times of India, the media professional, Ravindra Dusange was out with his family when text and calls started pouring in offering condolences of his death on Sunday.

Initially ignoring the message for some sort of prank, the media professional started getting worried when the outpour of condolence message continued on for several days. He was later informed by his brother that the news of his death was circulated on WhatsApp that also included a photograph of Dusange that was taken off his Facebook account.

“The past three days have been horrible. I’m tired of explaining to people that I'm alive and well. I've heard that the WhatsApp message about my death is still in circulation,” Dusange told TOI.

So far, the family is reportedly to have received 400 messages which could prove very concerning for his old and ailing mother, Dusange adds.

As per reports, Dusange has informed the police that he is aware of the person behind the message. Police, however, have been left at the threshold as similar cases were earlier brought under Section 66A of the IT Act, which has been abolished by the Supreme Court.

The Dahisar police as of now have accepted a written complaint from Dusange.
