A popular Chinese live streamer and blogger was left scarred for life by an octopus after she tried to film herself eating the eight-armed creature alive was attacked by the octopus instead. In the video that went viral, we see the woman grimacing in pain as she desperately attempts to remove the animal’s eight tentacles from her skin.

Watch the video here:

According to the Daily Mail, the mature giant Pacific octopus uses its 280 suckers on each arm to defend itself from potential attacks.

Provided the defence-mechanism of the octopus, it is presumed that the eight-legged creatures tried to fend off the woman, attaching its suckers tightly to her face as she prepared herself to eat it.

In the 50-second video was filmed by a blogger known as 'seaside girl Little Seven' on popular short-video platform Kuaishou we see that she remains calm at the start of the video telling fans ‘look how hard its sucking’, the blogger then starts to cry as she realises it won’t let go saying ‘I can’t remove it’, while also describing it as ‘painful’ to the camera.

While the octopus did eventually let go, the blogger was left with a small bloody wound of her cheek.
