Following nationwide protests in regards to CAA- Citizenship Amendment Act, NRC and NPR, good-old netizens of Twitter have taken their time to unearth an old video from the first superhero series, Shaktiman that co-incidentally leans to the much-debated, travelling topic. In the video that is enveloping the twittersphere, we see a policeman asking Mukesh Khanna's Shaktimaan if he has a birth certificate or a school leaving certificate to prove that he's a citizen of India.

The NRC or National Register of Citizens is an official record of those who are legal Indian citizens. It includes demographic information about all those individuals who qualify as citizens of India as per the Citizenship Act, 1955. The register was first prepared after the 1951 Census of India and since then it has not been updated until recently.

Initially NRC was only maintained in the state of Assam but on November 20, Home Minister, Amit Shah declared during a parliamentary session that the register would be extended to the entire country.
