Some of the stories on social media are awe-inspiring, one such story is of K Kamalathal, a 80-year old lady who resides in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district. Kamalatha, an idli-seller, sells idlies at a mere price of Rs 1 per piece with sambhar and chutney. She is of a view that by keeping the price low, the poor and needy are able to afford her idlies. Earlier, she charged only 50 paise per idli but as the cost of ingredients went high, she decided to take Rs 1 per piece.
Recognising the efforts of Kamalathal, Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to hail Kamalathal's efforts-
One of those humbling stories that make you wonder if everything you do is even a fraction as impactful as the work of people like Kamalathal. I notice she still uses a wood-burning stove. If anyone knows her I’d be happy to ‘invest’ in her business & buy her an LPG fueled stove. pic.twitter.com/Yve21nJg47

However, Bharat Gas Coimbatore offered her a LPG connection. It announced on Twitter that it is providing the lady with LPG connection-
@BPCLCoimbatore is pleased to inform that we have issued @Bharatgas LPG connection to Ms. Kamalam.@revellid @PeethambarantT @ISrinivasRao2 @Dhanapals6 @BPCLLPG pic.twitter.com/p3mzfVhWP4

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan who played a crucial role in providing LPG connection to Kamalathal also expressed his respect for the indomitable lady as he tweeted-
Salute the spirit and commitment of Kamalathal. Glad to having helped her through local OMC officers in getting LPG connection.
