You can order pretty much anything from Amazon, including your next date? Well, almost. Currently suspended, a new Amazon-style dating site sprung up on the internet days ahead of the Valentines’s week and instead of being filled with products, the pages are filled with profiles, all the potential suitors who come with free one-hour Prime delivery as well when you're in need of a last-minute date. Amazon dating, a parody account according to its business heads was born to make people laugh.
Now Tinder India reacting to their new competition in town said, referring to an Indian Pop Culture reference said, “Main Kya karun job chhod doon?”
Tinder is one of the most popular dating platforms in India. Along with TrulyMadly, OkCupid and the newly launched Bumble, user penetration in the Indian online dating market that stands at 2.7% in 2018 is expected to hit 3.2% by 2023, according to online market researcher Statista.
Amazon Dating was created by Ani Acopian, Suzy Shinn, Morgan Gruer, and Thinko. The dating site received thousands of applications and are in the process of reviewing them. They are already a hit on internet.
Ani took to Twitter to share about the website and wrote, "I wasn’t having much luck with dating apps so i partnered with @amazon to make a better one."
Every person who's "for sale" on Amazon Dating comes with a price, reviews, a bulleted description of hobbies, and even a drop down to choose how tall you want them to be.
After browsing the selection of potential dates on Amazon Dating, users can click and "buy" them.
