Just when you thought a dog taking the wheel can only happen in Chris Noonan movies, a pooch driving an Suv into a pond happens. The incident of the pooch taking the wheels and on-to the pond happened just weeks after a dog in Florida was spotted going on a joy-ride driving a car around in cul-de-sac for almost an hour.
Surveillance camera captures the pooch accidentally driving the car into the pond in the city of Xinguang, which is in Pujiang County in East China's Zhejiang Province.
The hapless pooch, can be seen sticking its head out the sunroof as local residents rush to save it.
Owner of the SUV, Mr Jia said: "I was preparing to leave but realised I had left my wallet and a box of products behind. I opened my boot so I could load the goods when I came back.
"While I was walking back, my dog saw me and jumped up because it was very excited. It somehow shifted my car into gear and drove it into the pond.
"After the car was driven into the pond, nearby villagers helped save my dog. I'm very grateful to them."
