New Delhi:

In order to avoid paying fee for extra baggage, an airline passenger opted for a unique technique that will leave you in splits. Gel Rodriguez of Philippines wore about 2.5 kgs of clothes to reduce her luggage weight. Taking to Facebook account, Gel explained that airline staff informed her that her carry-on luggage exceeded the maximum weight of 7 kilograms.

Her bag weighed 9.5 kilograms. To reduce the weight of her luggage, she unpacked her suitcase and took out several clothes. She wore most of them and that brought down the weight of the suitcase to 6.5kg.

The internet was impressed with Gel’s technique. "Hey no rules for that for sure," a user said while another added, "Hahaha good idea."

While speaking to Vice about the incident, Gel said, "I didn't want to pay the fee for the excess baggage because it was only 2kg.

"This is not the first time that a passenger put on extra pairs of clothes to avoid paying excess baggage fee. In July, video of a Scottish man putting on 15 shirts in Nice Airport to get his luggage within 7kg went viral on social media.
