New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): Amidst the continuous disruptions in Parliament proceedings, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma stated today that the opposition are politically frustrated individuals and they are wasting public money.
He said to ANI, They (Opposition) are mocking the earnings of the people by standing here, enjoying a picnic, taking Vitamin D in the sun, and they are taking it because they are politically frustrated people. Their despair does not shine inside the assembly...Come and discuss it in the parliament. The challenge is for you to come and discuss.
Sharma further stated that the opposition should discuss subjects such as development, foreign policy, education, and India rapidly growing economy.
He further added, You will not do it...you will not give the answer to the people in the Parliament... You coming on the road and not allowing the Parliament to function is undemocratic behaviour, and in this sacred Parliament building, it is an open mockery of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar constitution.
Earlier, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma took a swipe at the opposition, stating that the opposition has no real issues to discuss and that the session should be one of felicitations rather than criticism.
Sharma said to ANI, Today, the Opposition has no real issues...The way development is happening in the entire country, the way a youth from Lucknow has gone to Space...the way India entered Pakistan and conducted strikes...This session should be of felicitations, not criticism...
He added, I would like to say to the Congress that the Congress and the opposition should also learn to speak in the interest of India sometime. The manner in which honourable Rahul ji expresses himself is that he bases his statement on a tautologically false premise. It seems to him that he is giving statements for Pakistan.
Sharma said that this Congress is not the Gandhi party of Bapu and their only purpose is to create ruckus and run away.
He stated, Has this Congress and the opposition become so detached from their own Parliament that they feel no connection to it, yet still speak on the issue of India? This is not the Gandhi party of Bapu. This is the Congress that broke its relationship with Shashi Tharoor over his statement. This is the Congress that says that whatever it says on the issue of the country and the Sanatan party is criminal. This Congress... is anti-Sanathan. It does not even have the thought of thinking about the interests of the nation, so what will be their stand in the Parliament now? There is only one stand, create a ruckus and run away.
Earlier today, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut accused the opposition stating that they have certain responsibilities, but rather, they are undermining democracy and the constitution by creating unnecessary ruckus in Parliament.
While speaking to ANI reporters, she said, An opposition has certain responsibilities. The country is seeing their behaviour in Parliament. They strangle democracy and the constitution by creating unnecessary ruckus in the House. They enter the well every day. Ministers come well-prepared every day, but they dont let anyone speak on issues...
She further stated that it becomes difficult to get one number in the house to speak on important subjects, but the opposition doesnt seem to care.
Ranaut said, The ministers have made so much preparation for the questions. No matter how big the subject is, no one listens to them; they do not care about anyone. Whatever the demands of our areas of the public... With difficulty, our questions are asked, with difficulty, our number comes. My number also came only once...I have many friends, and they struggle so much to get the number and every day, it gets annulled...and this way, I feel that the country is watching how these people have made fun of the constitution.
The proceedings in the Lower House of the Parliament were adjourned till 2 pm on Thursday amid sloganeering by the Opposition. The Lower House began at 11 am on Thursday. However, amid ruckus by the Opposition, Speaker Om Birla adjourned the House till 2 pm.
Before adjourning the House, Speaker Birla urged Opposition members not to resort to disruptions. He stated that the conduct of members does not meet the standards of the House dignity.
Birla objected to members raising slogans and carrying banners, asking what message such conduct conveyed. Referring to Congress, he said, Such conduct is not in a party anskar, but the way new generation is behaving, it is being seen by the entire country.
Earlier today, INDIA Bloc MPs, for the fourth consecutive day, protested against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being conducted by the Election Commission (EC) in poll-bound Bihar. The MPs gathered at Parliament and called for a halt to the exercise.
The opposition parties have repeatedly called for a discussion in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha regarding the revision exercise, moving adjournment motions every day since the start of the monsoon session, and alleging that voter roll manipulation is taking place under the guise of the SIR.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji, Deputy Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha, among other leaders, attended the protest.
Carrying banners which read SIR-Attack on Democracy, the MPs stood at Makar Dwar, demanding that the voter list revision be halted. (ANI)
