Indrajit Chadha from Damini - Not just a goon, Amrish Puri also made us fall in love with him when he played the role of a criminal lawyer in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Damini' which feautered Meenakshi Sheshadri, Rishi Kapoor and Sunny Deol in key roles. In the movie, Amrish is seen as a person, who can go to any extent to win a case. His powerful dialogues delivery won him brownie points in 'Damini'.
Thakral from Meri Jung - Amrish Puri had played the role of a lawyer in Subhash Ghai's 'Meri Jung' as well. In this emotional family drama, Puri aka Thakral had proved an innocent man guilty in the court, who is then hanged to death. The twist comes after the innocent man's son played by Anil Kapoor takes the revenge and defeats Thakral in a case regarding his son. Amrish Puri had won a Filmfare award for 'Meri Jung' in the category of supporting actor.
Thakur Durjan Singh from Karan Arjun - In this Rakesh Roshan directorial, which featured Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles, Amrish Puri played the role of a rich evil Thakur. Not just his acting, but Puri's wicked expressions as Ranaji made every movie-goer an ardent fan of his skills. Interestingly, 'Karan Arjun' was one of the blockbuster movies in Hindi cinema.
Dong from Tehelka - Well, this was indeed one of the most unrecognisable roles ever played by Amrish Puri. In this Anil Sharma directorial, Amrish Puri plays the role of General Dong who is an evil dictator of a kingdom called Dongrila and his sole mission is to destroy India. His dialogue 'Dong kabhi wrong nahi hota' got really popular.
