Bigg Boss is one of the biggest reality shows on Indian television screens. The show is all set to comeback with season eleven on Colors channel. Bigg Boss has gained a cult status amongst the fans who wait for the show with anticipation every year. The show will start beaming from October 1 and is expected to have an exciting mix of celebrities and common people. The popular reality show follows the format of Bigg Brother, which was developed by Endemol in Netherlands. Several Bollywood celebrities have hosted the show and added their own charm. As the makers roll out eleventh season in the upcoming days, let's go down the memory lane and see who hosted the different seasons of Bigg Boss.

Salman Khan

Indeed Bigg Boss could never get a perfect host other than Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan. The 'Dabangg' actor has been hosting the reality show since season four in 2010. Fans refer the show as Salman Khan's show. It is Salman's magic which has made the show so much popular. There have been several reports that suggested Salman would no longer be part of the show. The 'Sultan' star is very much a part of the show and will soon host the new season.

Farah Khan

Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan hosted the extended version of Bigg Boss 8, Bigg Boss Halla Bol. The makers of the show decided to extend the eight season by few weeks. Salman Khan was unable to host the show since he had to shoot for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. This is when Colors approached Farah to take over the host duties. The 'Om Shanti Om' director is a huge Bigg Boss fan herself and did a good job as the host.

Sanjay Dutt

Colors channel roped in Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan for the fifth installment of the popular reality show. The show which was titled 'Bigg Boss-Double Vaat' was mainly hosted by the 'Lago Raho Munna Bhai' star. Though Salman Khan was part of the fifth season, he only appeared on the opening and few eviction episodes. Sanjay Dutt was a calm and composed host but was not able to leave a mark amongst the Bigg Boss fans.

Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan hosted the third season of Bigg Boss on Colors channel. The 'Deewar' star added his own charm to the show and was quite popular amongst the fans. Amitabh not only played the role of the host but was also a guide and philosopher to the housemates. Bindu Dara Singh was the winner of the third season.

Shipla Shetty

Beautiful actress Shilpa Shetty hosted the second season of Bigg Boss on Colors channel. Shilpa won the fifth season of UK's Big Brother in 2007 and the makers decided to encash her new popularity. She did a good job as a host and was able to connect with the fans. The second season was won by Ashutosh Kaushik.

Arshad Warsi

The first ever season of Bigg Boss was hosted by Arshad Warsi. The show aired on Sony Entertainment Television. It was Rahul Roy who ended up winning Bigg Boss 1. It was the first time a reality show like Bigg Boss was launched on Indian television. The show did quite well in terms of ratings and created buzz amongst the fans.
