Ranveer has turned over a completely new leaf ever since Deepika came into his life. Love blossomed between the two during the making of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), and they have been going strong ever since. Ahead of the release of their second film together, Bajirao Mastani (2015), Ranveer told IndiaToday that the credit for the chemistry goes to their "divine connection". "It's some sort of divine connection... I can't, I can't explain it in words. I really can't. This is one question that I'm often asked, and I really have no explanation for it. It's divinity," he said.

When Ranveer and Deepika are with each other, everything else fades into oblivion. In an interview, Deepika had said, "When we're with each other, we don't need anything or anyone else. We're comfortable in each other's presence. Sometimes it's intelligent conversation, sometimes just silence, sometimes there's a childlike innocence. We keep each other grounded. We are good in that sense."

When asked Deepika was asked about her relationship with Ranveer turned after the marriage, the actress said, "My relation with Ranveer has lasted with him so long because every six months he’s a different person."

In an interview with Harpers Bazar, Deepika said that Ranveer has seen her through her worst phase and has been by her side during the time she was suffering from depression. “Over seven years, before we got married, we've been through a lot. He's seen my career on the upside down and seen me at my lowest phase when I was going through depression, and he's been there for me. We're still so excited by each other, so inspired by each other. He's my best friend," added Deepika Padukone.

Deepika is not only one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood today, she has also made a splash in Hollywood. A proud Ranveer told India Today Television, "She is the No. 1 actress of Hindi cinema today. She has crossed over working in English films as well. She has achieved so much, and I am extremely proud of her." He could not stop gushing about her acting skills and said, "Deepika is outstanding. I have to learn a lot from Deepika as an actor. She is so effective without having to do much. Her eyes tell you everything that she's feeling. That's a skill I hope to develop over a period of time."
