Jaya Bachchan who was born as Jaya Bhaduri on 9th April 1948 in a Bengali family is one of the finest Hindi film actresses of her time. The actress is best known for her ability to present naturalistic act in both 'mainstream' and 'artistic' movies. She stepped into her movie career as a teenager in Satyajit Ray's Mahanagar. Her first performance as an adult was in Guddi, a film helmed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
