Salman Khan's first release of 2017 'Tubelight' has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. The movie happens to be Salman's third collaboration with director Kabir Khan after 'EK Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'.
'Tubelight' revolves around the story of a brother who is on a quest of his lost brother who went missing during war. The movie is based on the Indo-Sino War of 1962.

Sohail Khan was not the first choice to play Salman's brother in Tubelight. It is reported that director Kabir Khan wanted a well-known face for the role and was keen to rope in Akshay Kumar for 'Tubelight'. However, it was reportedly Sohail was finalised as Salman wanted to have an emotional connection.
'Tubelight' is said to be Salman Khan's shortest movie so far. His last releases - 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and 'Sultan' wranged between 2 hours and 45 minutes to 3 hours. However, 'Tubelight' has a total run-time of 136 minutes.
Matin Rey Tangu, the child actor who plays a pivotal role in 'Tubelight' and shared a great camaraderie with Salman Khan, was zeroed in after auditioning over a thousand kids for his role.
While there are reports about, 'Tubelight' being an adaptation of Hollywood flick 'Little Boy', the media reports also suggested that director Kabir Khan had also obtained an NOC from the makers of the Kannada film of the same name as they owned the rights of the title.
Salman Khan will be sharing Shah Rukh Khan after a long hiatus. Salman had revealed that SRK gave nod to the movie without listening to the entire conversation. Interestingly, Khan also revealed that SRK's character will bring a new twist in the story of 'Tubelight'.
