Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor is celebrating his 79th birthday today and he is being inundated with best wishes from colleagues and fans across the world.
Shashi, who entered showbiz at a very tender age, managed to win a permanent place in million of hearts, through his chocolaty looks and his commendable acting skills.

Shashi Kapoor was originally named as Balbir Raj Prithviraj Kapoor. However, he changed his name to Shashi Kapoor after stepping into Bollywood.
The owner of million hearts Shashi Kapoor, started his career at a very early age when he was only four. He used to take parts in plays directed and produced by his father Prithviraj Kapoor.
He acted as a child artist in a film named 'Sangram' in which he shared the screen place with his elder brother Rishi Kapoor.
Along with acting Shashi Kapoor also tried his hands in direction and had directed a film called 'Ajooba' starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
Jennifer and Shashi established Prithvi theatre on 5 November 1978 in Mumbai.
